FAIRMED Nepal’s participation in INTERNATIONAL LEPROSY CONFERENCE 2019, held in Manila, Philippines
FAIRMED Nepal was invited to participate in the “International Leprosy Congress” (ILC) which was held in Manila, Philippines from 11-13 Sep 2019. Ms. Nirmala Sharma, Country Coordinator of FAIRMED Foundation Nepal, attended the conference along with other Country representatives from FAIRMED International.
The focus of the conference was mainly on global level sharing of findings on various issues related to leprosy’s treatment, reaction management, identification of new drugs, addressing Stigma & Discrimination practices, integrated case management of NTD’s including Leprosy and also sharing of scientific research findings by the renowned personalities. The sessions were quite useful for organization like FAIRMED who has just initiated its work in the area of NTD’s to understand the global situation and efforts to reach Zero Leprosy by 2030.
The Conference was attended by Government Officials of different countries, UN agencies, I/NGOs, Academia, and various experts in Leprosy from around the world.
