In a significant milestone for maternal healthcare in Nepal, the "ZERO Home Delivery Declaration" initiative has made remarkable progress, substantially improving healthcare access for mothers and newborns in rural and underserved areas. This initiative, supported by the FAIRMED Foundation and local partners, has successfully reduced maternal mortality rates, aligned with Nepal's commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) of ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all.

Ultrasound camp at Sisnegaon, Rukum East
FAIRMED Foundation Nepal is dedicated to improving healthcare services and access to health facilities in remote areas. Our primary focus is on enhancing maternal and neonatal health by equipping health institutions with essential equipment and conducting outreach programs. One of our recent initiatives involved collaborating with partners to organize an ultrasound camp for pregnant women in the Sisne Rural Municipality of Rukum East, Nepal.

Relief to the family of former Social Mobilizer of FAIRMED's UPAKAR Project
A former social mobilizer of UPAKAR Project, Ganesh Jyoti, lost his life in the recent flooding of Sindhupalchowk district. He is survived by his wife and three children - two daughters and a son.
Remembering Jyoti and his contributions, FAIRMED Nepal in coordination with former implementing partner MANK provided his family with some relief support in an attempt to ease their present challenges.
The relief items included food supply, kitchenware, bedding and clothing items, educational supplies for the children, two mobile phones with data connection to facilitate their online learning, among others.
FAIRMED's relief support to flood affected families in Sindhupalchowk
With the onset of monsoon this year, Nepal witnessed heavy rainfall in most parts of the country. Continuous rain triggered flash floods and landslides everywhere, including Sindhupalchowk district in Bagmati Province. This year’s unabating rainfall led to the loss of lives and properties in a large magnitude, especially in Sindhupalchowk.
